Gaines Football Privacy Policy
Last updated: 27 October 2026. Applies to Gaines Football version 1.0.0 and later on Android. Parts marked “From version 2.0” describe features that exist only in version 2.0.0 and later.
Gaines Football is a game developed and published by Gaines Games LLC (“we”, “us”), Texas, United States. This policy explains what information the game handles and what we do with it.
- We do not collect, receive or store any personal information from the game.
- The game has no account, no login, no advertising, no analytics and no telemetry.
- Your careers, saves, settings and customizations stay on your device.
- From version 2.0: Nearby play (two phones in the same room) talks directly from phone to phone. Nothing goes through us.
- From version 2.0: Voice commands are optional and off by default. They use speech recognition built into your phone and never send audio anywhere.
- Online features are not active. The game does not contact any server of ours.
- We do not sell or share any information.
Information that stays on your device
The game saves the following in the app’s private storage on your device only:
- career and match saves, rosters, history and customizations;
- game settings, control bindings and accessibility choices;
- a local record of your Google Play licence check, so the game can start when you are offline.
This information is never sent to us. Android cloud backup and device-to-device transfer are turned off for the game, so it is not copied to Google Drive or to another phone. Uninstalling the game, or clearing its storage in Android Settings > Apps > Gaines Football > Storage, deletes all of it. The Reset button on the in-game Settings screen restores default settings without touching your careers.
Google Play
Gaines Football is sold through Google Play. When you buy the game, Google processes the payment; we never see your payment details. When the game starts, it asks the Google Play Store app on your device to confirm that your Google account owns the game (Google Play licence verification). That check is handled by Google under the Google Privacy Policy. The game keeps only the result of the check on your device.
You pay once for the game in Google Play. From version 2.0: optional cosmetic gear can be bought inside the game through Google Play Billing. Google processes those purchases and we never see your payment details; the game keeps only a local record of which items you own, so it can show them when you are offline. Nothing in the game that affects how a match is played can be bought.
For any purchase of the game or within it, Google Play provides us with order records (such as an order number, the item, the date and the country of purchase). We use these only for accounting, tax, refunds and player support.
If you have turned on Android “Usage & diagnostics”, Android and Google Play may send crash and performance reports to Google. Google gives developers aggregated, de-identified crash and performance statistics (Android vitals). We use these statistics only to fix problems in the game.
Network use
The game does not need an internet connection to play, and it does not send gameplay or personal information over the internet. The Android internet and network-state permissions are requested by the game engine and by Google Play libraries (licence check, purchases and, from version 2.0, optional downloads of game data from Google Play); the game itself does not use them to send information to us or to anyone else. Online matches, leaderboards and leagues are not active. If a later update turns them on, we will update this policy and the Google Play Data safety section before that update is released.
Nearby play (from version 2.0)
Nearby play lets two phones in the same room play a match without an internet connection. It uses Google’s Nearby Connections service, which runs on your phone and uses Bluetooth and Wi-Fi.
- Android asks for the “Nearby devices” permission (Android 12 and later) when you host or join. On Android 8 to 12 the system ties Bluetooth and Wi-Fi scanning to the location permission, so the game asks for it then. The game never reads, stores or sends your location.
- The other phone sees a random name made for this installation. It does not see your name, e-mail, phone number or any account.
- What is sent between the two phones (match setup, button presses, the score and preset quick-chat phrases) is encrypted by Nearby Connections and goes only to the other phone. Free-text chat is not available in nearby play.
- A short list of your last nearby opponents (their random installation name, the score, the time) and your mute and block choices stay on your phone so a rematch can be offered. Clearing the game’s storage deletes them.
- Google Play services may collect its own usage and diagnostics for Nearby Connections, controlled by Android Settings > Google > Usage & diagnostics and covered by the Google Privacy Policy. We do not receive it.
Optional voice commands (from version 2.0)
Version 2.0.0 can let you say “audible”, “hot route”, “timeout” or “hike” before a snap, as a shortcut for the matching button. It is off until you turn on Voice commands in Settings, and the option is shown only on phones that can recognise speech on the device itself.
- When you turn it on, Android asks for microphone permission. You can turn the option off at any time, and you can take the permission back in Android Settings > Apps > Gaines Football > Permissions.
- The game listens only during the short window before each snap, one phrase at a time, using the speech recognition built into your phone. It never listens in the background or while the game is paused or closed.
- The audio is processed on your phone. The game never receives, records, stores or sends the audio. It receives only the recognised words, uses them once to press the matching button, and discards them.
Children
Gaines Football is intended for players aged 13 and over and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children. Nearby play (from version 2.0) is between two phones in the same room and has no free-text chat.
Your choices and rights
Because we do not hold any personal information about you from the game, there is nothing for us to access, correct, export or delete on our side. You control all game data on your device as described above. Requests relating to your Google account or Google Play purchases are handled by Google.
If you still want to ask us to access or delete any information, including anything you sent us by email, see Privacy and deletion requests or email privacy@gainesgames.com with “Privacy request” in the subject. You do not need to install the game to make a request.
Changes to this policy
If a future version of the game changes how it handles information, we will update this policy and the “Last updated” date before that version is released, and the Google Play Data safety section will be updated to match.
